Car interior cleaning across Medway and North Kent

Nobody sees the inside of your car except the people who ride in it, which is why it is the half that gets neglected and the half that smells. Across North Kent the cabin collects a different county in every town: river damp in Gravesend, Crossing grit in Dartford, cement on an Ebbsfleet estate, Sheppey sand, Downs mud, and in all of them the school run and the dog. Yikes cleans it where the car is parked, through vetted local washers from the Yikes Network who bring the vacuum, the steam, the shampoo and the power to run them. The Medway towns have their own page. This one is the rest of the region.

Town by town

What is in the cabin, and where it came from

Gravesend and Northfleet

Damp. A car parked between the Thames and the A2 lives in river air, and in winter the cabin never quite dries: condensation on the inside glass every morning, a musty note in the carpets by February. The Full Interior Detail's steam is the answer, because it lifts the damp smell out of the fabric rather than covering it, and the protectant afterwards slows it coming back.

Dartford, Greenhithe and the Bluewater villages

Grit. The Crossing commuter's cabin is where the M25 ends up: grey dust on every surface, brake dust on the sills, and the Bluewater car park's chalk on the mats. A Deluxe Interior every couple of months keeps it down; the Full Interior Detail every spring resets it.

Ebbsfleet and Longfield

Cement. The cars on Ebbsfleet Garden City's new drives, past 5,000 homes and still building, carry fine site dust inside on shoes and through the vents, and it settles into the carpets as a pale film that looks like wear. The shampoo and steam lift it; the vacuum alone moves it around.

Sittingbourne and Sheppey

Sand and salt. A summer of Sheppey beaches leaves sand in every seam of the boot carpet, and the winter's road salt dries into white tide marks on the mats. The Full Interior Detail in September, then again in April, and the Essential Interior between for the quick tidy.

Maidstone, the Malling villages and the Downs

Mud and dog. The Kent Downs National Landscape covers a quarter of the county and most of Maidstone's weekends. The footwells carry the walks, the boot carries the dog, and the back seat carries the children. This is Full Interior Detail country, with the pet hair lifted properly and the smells dealt with by steam.

How it works here

Doors open, a metre of space, any weather

An interior clean needs less than any other job: the doors open, room to work, and someone to unlock the car at the start of the window. Your washer brings the power for the vacuum and the steam and parks their own vehicle, so a drive in Longfield, a kerbside space in Gravesend or an allocated bay at Ebbsfleet all work, and rain is no reason to rebook. Type your postcode into the booking page, confirm a Network washer covers it, pick the Full Interior Detail or the Deluxe Interior, and choose a morning window if the car is parked somewhere damp, so the shampooed carpets dry through the afternoon.

Kent's gritters cover every A and B road from late October to mid April, and that is the interior season: the salt comes in on shoes and sets into the fabric, and a shampoo and steam in spring is what takes a winter out. For a car that has gone a year without care, with food, sand and dog all in it, the Deep Clean goes further and takes two slots.

Medway and North Kent questions

Good to know

Do you cover Gravesend, Dartford, Sittingbourne and Maidstone for interior cleaning?
Yes, and Ebbsfleet, Longfield, the Malling villages and Sevenoaks, wherever a Network washer covers the postcode. The Medway towns have their own page.
Can the washer work in a bay under a block at Ebbsfleet?
Yes, if there is room to open the doors and a metre to work. Add the access details in the notes when you book.
Will it get rid of the damp smell?
Steam lifts the cause out of the fabric rather than covering it, and the protectant slows it returning. A car parked by the river will need it again in a year; that is the river, not the clean.
Does it matter if it rains?
No. The job is inside the car. Only the drying time changes, which is why a morning window suits winter bookings.
Does someone need to be in?
At the start, to unlock the car. After that, leave the washer to it; the photographs and the receipt arrive when it is done.
Is it the same price in Sevenoaks as in London?
Yes. One booking page, one set of prices, and Members Club takes 20 percent off.
Do you need my water or electricity?
No. Your washer brings water, power and all the kit, so there is nothing to connect or set up. A flat, a terrace, a drive or a village street all work.
Do I need to be in?
Not for an outside only wash, as long as the car is where you said it would be and the washer can reach it. For anything that includes the inside, someone needs to unlock the car.
Who will wash my car?
In Medway and North Kent your wash is done by a vetted local washer from the Yikes Network. You book and pay through Yikes at the usual prices, the washer checks in at the car and takes before and after photos, and your receipt and wash report come from Yikes.
Do you wash vans and larger vehicles?
Yes. Vans and larger vehicles cost a little more because they take longer, and the booking page prices it for you. For several vehicles at once, see our fleet page.
