End of lease car clean across Medway and North Kent

Lease cars in North Kent come back from different lives. The one from Ebbsfleet has three years of a new estate on it. The one from Dartford has crossed the river twice a day. The one from a Downs village has lanes, mud and a dog. Each goes back to the same twenty minute inspection, and each needs the same thing first: a clean that returns the car, inside and out, to the condition the paperwork assumes, with dated photographs to show it. Yikes does that on the drive, through vetted local washers from the Yikes Network, in every town from the Thames to Maidstone. The Medway towns have their own page; this one covers the rest of the region.

Town by town

What three years of each town does to a lease car

Gravesend, Northfleet and Ebbsfleet

The Thames side. Ebbsfleet Garden City has passed 5,000 completed homes on the way to 15,000, and the first wave of three year leases on its new drives is ending now. These cars have lived in the open beside a building site, with the river's salt film on one side and cement dust on the other, and since March 2026 the early works on the Lower Thames Crossing have added traffic and dust around Gravesend and Shorne. The paint wants the Exterior Detail a week before the hand back, so the film and the dust come off with a clay rather than a cloth; the End of Lease clean then finishes a car that already looks cared for.

Dartford, Greenhithe and the Bluewater villages

The Crossing side. A Dartford lease car has paid the £3.50 Dart Charge twice a day for three years and carries the M25's brake dust to prove it, orange specks in the clear coat and brown wheels that a wash will not shift. Bluewater's quarry and the chalk under Stone and Greenhithe add the white film. Here the order is Exterior Detail for the iron and the tar, then the End of Lease clean, and the wheels are the part the inspector photographs first.

Sittingbourne and Sheppey

The Swale side. Sand in the boot from the Sheppey beaches, salt from both the estuary and the gritters, and a family's worth of summer in the carpets. These cars need the interior shampoo add on more than any other in the region, because the salt tide marks and the sand set into the fabric, and the inspector's torch finds them.

Maidstone and the Malling villages

The M20 side. The county town's lease cars are commuter cars and family cars at once, with motorway film on the outside and the school run on the inside. The End of Lease clean alone is usually enough, with the shampoo add on if there are children or a dog in the car's history.

Sevenoaks, the Darent valley and the Downs

The lanes. The Kent Downs National Landscape covers a quarter of the county, and a car that has lived in it for three years has mud in the arches, sap on the roof and the countryside in the footwells. Exterior Detail for the sap, the interior shampoo for the footwells, and a dry week before the collection so nothing new gets in.

How it works here

A washer who covers your town, three to five days before

Type your postcode into the booking page and it checks whether a Network washer covers it; if one does, the End of Lease clean appears with the price for your car's size. Book it for three to five days before the collection, so the shampooed carpets dry fully with the windows cracked, which in a Kent winter takes most of a day, and so nobody has to use the car afterwards. If the car needs the Exterior Detail or the Full Interior Detail first, book that for the week before. Someone unlocks the car at the start of the window; the washer brings water and power; the photographs and the receipt arrive when it is done.

What the clean does: outside, a proper wash, wheels and arches, tar spots off the sills, tyres dressed, glass finished, plastics brought back; inside, everything vacuumed, plastics and leather cleaned, inside glass, boot cleared, door shuts wiped; and the shampoo add on for anything that has soaked into the fabric. What it does not do: repair damage. Scratches, dents and kerbed alloys are a separate conversation, and the photographs will show them honestly.

Medway and North Kent questions

Good to know

Do you cover Gravesend, Dartford and Ebbsfleet for lease returns?
Yes, and Sittingbourne, Maidstone, the Malling villages and Sevenoaks, wherever a Network washer covers the postcode. The booking page checks when you type it.
Which should I book first, the Exterior Detail or the End of Lease clean?
Exterior Detail a week before if the paint feels rough or the wheels are brown; End of Lease clean three to five days before in every case.
Can the washer come to the dealer's forecourt?
No. The clean is done at home, on the drive or at the kerb where the car is legally parked, and then the car is driven back on a dry day.
What do the photographs cover?
Every panel, every wheel, the interior and the boot, before and after, with the time and date, in your wash report. They are yours to keep.
Does the clean fix kerbed alloys or scratches?
No. It removes dirt, which is what most disputed charges are really about; damage is separate and the photographs will show it honestly.
Is it the same price in Sevenoaks as in London?
Yes. One booking page, one set of prices, and Members Club takes 20 percent off.
Do you need my water or electricity?
No. Your washer brings water, power and all the kit, so there is nothing to connect or set up. A flat, a terrace, a drive or a village street all work.
Do I need to be in?
Not for an outside only wash, as long as the car is where you said it would be and the washer can reach it. For anything that includes the inside, someone needs to unlock the car.
Who will wash my car?
In Medway and North Kent your wash is done by a vetted local washer from the Yikes Network. You book and pay through Yikes at the usual prices, the washer checks in at the car and takes before and after photos, and your receipt and wash report come from Yikes.
Do you wash vans and larger vehicles?
Yes. Vans and larger vehicles cost a little more because they take longer, and the booking page prices it for you. For several vehicles at once, see our fleet page.
