A ceramic coating is a hard, transparent layer that bonds to your lacquer. Once cured it behaves like a sacrificial shell: water beads and sheets off, brake dust and traffic film struggle to stick, bird droppings and sap sit on the coating instead of etching your paint, and the gloss has a glassy depth that wax cannot match.

The practical win is every wash afterwards. Dirt releases with far less effort, which means less rubbing, which means fewer swirl marks over the life of the car.

Correction first, always

Coating uncorrected paint is the classic cheap-detailer shortcut: the coating locks every existing swirl and scratch under glass. The Yikes service includes full paint correction before the coating goes on, so what gets sealed is paint at its best.
