A valet is the wash most people in Medway actually want: the outside done properly, wheels and glass included, and the inside vacuumed, wiped and dressed, in one visit on your own drive. Yikes brings it to Rochester, Strood, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham and the Hoo Peninsula through vetted local washers from the Yikes Network, who arrive with water, power and everything else, work where the car is parked, and send you the photos when they are done. You book online, pick a two hour window, and the car never leaves the drive.

Why a valet here
Medway's towns climb the north slope of the Downs and sit on the Medway estuary, and a car here picks up both at once. From the chalk comes a fine white dust whenever the weather is dry, and from the estuary comes a salt tinged film that dulls paint and leaves glass smeary after a windy week. Add the brake dust of the M2 and the A2 and the traffic film of the Medway Tunnel, and the outside of the car needs a proper wash rather than a rinse. The inside is the other half: the mud from Capstone Farm Country Park and Riverside, the sand from the beach at Allhallows, the school run crumbs, and the dog. A valet deals with both in one go.
The Deluxe Inside & Out is the one most Medway households book. Outside, your washer does a two bucket wash with a rinse before anything touches the paint, cleans the wheels and arches separately, dresses the tyres and finishes the glass. Inside, the seats and carpets are vacuumed properly, the plastics are wiped and dressed, the inside glass is done, and the door shuts and sills are cleaned. The Essential Inside & Out is the lighter version for a car that is done every few weeks: outside wash, vacuum, wipe down. The Deluxe Interior and the Deluxe Exterior split the job if only one half needs it.
Medway is drive country: 81 percent of households have a car and 40 percent have two or more, and the typical valet here is two cars outside a semi in Rainham, Hempstead or Walderslade. Both are done in one visit, each with its own wash report, and nobody spends a Saturday morning queueing on the A2 at a hand car wash. In the terraces of Chatham and Gillingham the car is valeted at the kerb, in the space you already have; in the flats on St Mary's Island, in your allocated bay.
When to book it
The Medway calendar sets the rhythm. Gritting runs from mid October to mid April, and road salt left on paint for weeks is the surest way to a dull finish by spring, so a valet every four to six weeks through the winter is the one habit that pays. Rochester's Dickensian Christmas Festival fills the High Street on 5 and 6 December 2026 and the Christmas Market runs in the Castle Gardens from 27 November to 13 December, which is the week to book a valet for a day the car is at home rather than fighting for a space in town.
Twice a year the Deluxe is not enough and the Super Valet, with its wax and interior restoration, is the right call: once after the winter salt, once after the summer of sap and sand. For a car that has been neglected for a year or more, the Deep Clean brings it back from the start. And if the car is going back to a lease company, the End of Lease clean is a different page and a different standard.
How it works
The 2021 Census counted 111,458 households in Medway, two thirds of them owner occupiers and nearly four in ten in terraces. The cars follow the housing. Chatham and Gillingham run older hatchbacks and work vans parked at the kerb; Rainham, Hempstead and Wigmore run family SUVs on drives; Rochester and the peninsula villages add a newer car or two facing the river. Every one of them is valeted where it stands.
