Hardly anyone in Hackney has a driveway, so a traditional car wash is a logistics puzzle: lose the space, queue, pay, circle home. We remove the puzzle. You book a window, the car stays in its bay on Mare Street, Chatsworth Road or wherever it lives, and a Yikes rider washes it there.
Cargo e-bikes are the trick: they reach a Wick warehouse yard or a Clapton permit bay without blocking anything, with zero emissions on the journey and roughly a quarter of the water of a typical mobile wash. Nothing floods the gutter, nobody loses a space.
London Fields and Clapton Common trees drip sap onto every bay beneath them; the marshes side brings gulls and their droppings; and the Wick's light-industrial corners add dust that settles into a grey film. Each is harmless caught early and stubborn left late, which is why regular gentle washes beat occasional heroic ones.
