Greenwich town centre and the park

Few car washes can say they work in a World Heritage Site. Maritime Greenwich was inscribed by UNESCO in 1997: the Old Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum, the Queen's House, the Royal Observatory and Greenwich Park. It brings the crowds, and the town centre zone reflects that, running every day: Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 6pm. Greenwich Market is open every day too, from 10am to 5.30pm.

Greenwich Park has its own rules, because the Royal Parks run it rather than the borough. Through traffic has been banned since March 2020, a ban made permanent in 2022. Its car parking is along Blackheath Avenue, reached through Blackheath Gate, chargeable from 9am to 6pm with a four-hour maximum stay. On London Marathon day in 2025, roads on the route closed from 7am to 4pm and parked cars were removed from 4am, so that is one Sunday to book around.

None of that is your problem for a wash: your washer sorts their own parking, and your car stays exactly where it is.

Royal Greenwich, neighbourhood by neighbourhood

Charlton

Home to Charlton House, a Grade I Jacobean mansion built between 1607 and 1612, and Charlton Park beside it. Round The Valley, Charlton Athletic says parking on most roads within a mile is limited to two hours from 9am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, which is fine for us: your car stays put while it is cleaned.

Woolwich

Woolwich has been transformed. The Elizabeth line arrived on 24 May 2022, Berkeley says it has delivered over 3,500 of the 5,000-plus homes planned at Royal Arsenal Riverside, and Woolwich Works opened in restored Arsenal buildings in 2021. The free Woolwich Ferry, running since 1889, still carries cars across the river. If your block has a residents' car park, we can wash there when the building allows it.

Plumstead and Shooters Hill

Shooters Hill is the highest point in South London at 132 metres, wrapped in Oxleas Woods, an ancient woodland at least 8,000 years old. Below it, Plumstead and Winn's Commons have been public open space since 1877.

Eltham and Kidbrooke

Eltham pairs Edward IV's great hall with the Courtaulds' 1930s Art Deco house at Eltham Palace, and its High Street has had a £6.6 million makeover. The council says there are more than 800 spaces across the town's main car parks. In Kidbrooke, the old Ferrier Estate is being replaced with 5,268 new homes, due to be finished in 2031, and the River Quaggy now winds through Sutcliffe Park instead of a culvert.

Abbey Wood and Thamesmead

Abbey Wood's new station opened in 2017 and has been on the Elizabeth line since 2022. Thamesmead straddles Greenwich and Bexley, and we cover both sides.

Leaves, salt and charging

Royal Greenwich changes its street cleaning for leaf season, usually October to December; in 2025 it ran from 20 October to 19 December, with streets on the leaf list cleaned every two weeks and other residential roads every three. In winter the gritters take main roads, bus routes, hospital routes and busy hills first. Both mean the same thing for a parked car: leaves, sap and salt sitting on the paint for longer, and a regular outside wash is the answer.

The borough is building out electric charging fast. In 2025 it chose JOLT and Ubitricity for up to 800 on-street charge points, and with Lewisham it has approval to tender for at least 1,150 more. For homes without a drive, a cross-pavement charging trial was expanded in 2026.

Greenwich questions

Good to know

Do I need to buy a visitor voucher for the washer?
No. Your washer sorts their own parking, so there is nothing for you to buy in the town centre zone or anywhere else in the borough.
Do you need my water or electricity?
No. Your washer brings water, power and all the kit.
Can you come on a Charlton match day or near The O2 on an event day?
Yes, though those days are busier. If your car is close to the ground or the arena, a non-event day is the easier booking.
Can you wash my car in my building's car park in Woolwich or on the Peninsula?
Yes, where the building allows it. Check with your managing agent, then add the access details, level and bay in the notes when you book.
Do you cover both sides of Thamesmead and Blackheath?
Yes. Thamesmead is shared with Bexley and Blackheath with Lewisham, and we cover all of both.
Who will wash my car?
In South East London your wash is done by a vetted local washer from the Yikes Network. You book and pay through Yikes at the usual prices, the washer checks in at the car and takes before and after photos, and your receipt and wash report come from Yikes.
