Yes, Yikes Car Wash now covers Eastcote, the eastern tithing of the old Ruislip parish that became a Metropolitan line suburb and kept its village at the top of the hill. We clean cars where they are parked: on the drives of the avenues off Field End Road, at the kerb in the Zone E streets around the station, in the closes towards Eastcote Lane, and outside the cottages of the old village by the Gardens. Book online, pick a two hour window, and a vetted local washer from the Yikes Network comes with water, power and kit. Half of Eastcote has a Pinner postcode and all of it is Hillingdon; we cover both.

Parking reality
Eastcote had about 600 people at the turn of the 20th century and more than twelve thousand a century later, and the Metropolitan line is the reason. The suburb that grew along Field End Road is the familiar interwar pattern of semis with drives and garages, and the 2021 Census bears it out: 84 percent of households have a car, 36 percent have two or more and three quarters own their home. Around the station the council runs Zone E, its permit holder bays protected against commuters, and it tinkers with it constantly: in May 2026 it removed the bay outside 15 Boldmere Road for a new vehicle crossing and replaced it with Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm waiting restrictions. Hillingdon's permits are virtual and cost £92.40 a year for a first car from 6 April 2026.
Away from the station, the car is on the drive, and so are we. On a Zone E street, your washer sorts their own parking and works at your car where it is legally parked, so you do not need a visitor voucher and your car does not give up its bay.
What Eastcote does to a car
Eastcote's avenues were planted with the houses, and a century on they drop sap from June and leaves from October onto every car beneath them. The River Pinn runs through the village and the Gardens, with the damp and the birds that go with water, and Eastcote House Gardens, Haydon Hall Park and Highgrove Woods bring the wildlife of a green corridor into the middle of a suburb. The commute is Field End Road to the A40 or the Metropolitan line, so the cars that drive collect brake dust and the cars that sit collect droppings.
Left for a month, lime sap hardens into a lacquer that ordinary washing will not shift, and a dropping under summer sun eats into the lacquer beneath it within days. Three to four weeks is the right interval here. Your washer soaks the car before any mitt touches it, uses a separate bucket for the wheels, and the photographs on your wash report show what came off.
How it works
Local life
A dovecote built without a licence, the woman who held Corfe Castle, a codebreaking outstation and a walled garden. These are the places that shape a week here.
A public park of 3.63 hectares on the site of Eastcote House, with the walled garden, the Grade II listed 18th century dovecote and the coach house. The walled garden was renamed for a former Friends chair in May 2024, and the Friends' summer fete on 6 June 2026 had free entry, charity stalls and live music.
Ralph Hawtrey married Winifred Walleston around 1525 and moved into her cottage, Hopkyttes, renaming it Eastcote House. Their son John built a dovecote without the manor's licence; his nephew applied for it after his death in 1593 and got it.

Ralph Hawtrey's only daughter married Sir John Bankes, Chief Justice to Charles I, and in 1643 held their home, Corfe Castle in Dorset, against the Roundheads. She also lived at Haydon Hall in Eastcote, and a school in Northwood Hills carries her name.

Eastcote housed an outstation of Bletchley Park in the Second World War, with several codebreaking machines in use. It became the precursor of GCHQ, which stayed in Eastcote until the move to Cheltenham in 1952.

In the Middle Ages Eastcote was Ascot, one of the three tithings of Ruislip parish with Westcot, the main village, and Norwood, which became Northwood. The name just means the eastern settlement.

On 13 September 2026 the council opened the usually closed dovecote for the Open House festival, 10am to 4pm, with the Gardens as one of the borough's featured heritage sites.

Eastcote ward had 16,911 people in 6,752 households at the 2021 Census: 84 percent of households with a car, 36 percent with two or more, 75 percent of homes owner occupied, 24 percent flats and 16 percent detached. It is the most settled corner of this side of Hillingdon, and the typical booking is a family car on a drive off Field End Road, with a second car for the commute.
